Travel log January 22nd, 26 A.P. (Year 1 of the board) Early Morning
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Kenna had had a fine night with her new Pyroll. She went back to her (wrecked) shop and played/practiced with him. It didn't look like he could do much yet, flame-wise, but that was fine. It would be a while before she could open her doors again. For now, she just had tarps up to keep the weather out. There was something he could do, though. "Up an' at 'em, mah bairn!" The Pyroll uncurled himself, stretching and yawning. Kenna smiled at him as he finished, and walked off the makeshift Pokébed--consisting of an old wicker basket and a pillow that had been on her bed two nights before. She then retrieved his Pokéball from her bedside drawers, continuing, "Theday, we're gonnae saut somebodie's brose oan th' vermin 'at wrecked mah store--ain Ah hear there's a reward, tae bit!""Up and at 'em, my baby/kid/etc" "Today, we're going to get revenge on the vermin that wrecked my store--and I hear there's a reward, to boot!" Pyroll blinked at her groggily. "You're gonnae hae tae be mair lively than 'at, mukker. Ah cannae dae much tae those bowfin' dunderheids withit ye." Pyroll tilted his head at her, staring with large pupils and droopy lids. Kenna sighed. "Ah c'n carry ye until ye wake up a bit mair, thocht. ...An' gie ye brekkist first.""You're going to have to be more lively than that, friend. I can't do much to those smelly idiots without you. I can carry you until you wake up a bit more, though. ...And get you breakfast first." So she picked him up and went downstairs from her thankfully untouched apartment to her ruined storefront, quickly got some food for both herself and Pyroll. After that was done with, she went out the unabused front door, and down the street, all while carrying her little, drowsy Pyroll. The sun was just now rising to the east, casting a glow on nearly everything. After a few minutes, Pyroll wiggled a bit in Kenna's arms and she put him down to walk beside her, and he kept up with her fast pace with difficulty--such tiny legs on him could hardly compare to her long stride. Still, he seemed alert enough now that it wasn't much of a problem. The streets weren't wholly deserted, of course, of either people or Pokémon, but Kenna did her best to avoid anything and anyone that wasn't an Anorith--and from the grim set of her face, the people tended to avoid her too. She had revenge to take.
Party:
- Kenna is looking for Anorith to battle
- maybe some Connection points for feeding/cuteness? /shot

For a while, all that appeared were signs of damage from the Anorith invasion. However, as Kenna continued walking, as luck would have it, she would catch sight of not one but two Anorith inside the turn of a different alleyway. However, they seemed distracted from both the humans and other pokemon that made their way by- because for some strange reason they were fighting each other. What... what was going on? If one squinted enough, she would find the two were Scratching at each other over what appeared to be a half eaten berry now resting off to the side. It seemed the sweet taste of land food had caused them to quarrel- well that was somewhat good for Kenna now wasn't it?

A smile lit upon Kenna's features as she regarded the pair of Anoriths, cracking her knuckles. Perfect. "Gang an' gie a body ay them an extra scart tae deal wi', Pyroll." The little armadillo cocked his head in confusion at her, and she huffed in annoyance before enunciating more clearly, "Scratch. Wi' yer claws, ye ken? Oan, ah... 'At yin thaur." She pointed to the Anorith on the right--from their point of view anyhow. Pyroll nodded and leapt into the fray. "Go and give one of them an extra Scratch to deal with, Pyroll." "Scratch. With your claws, you know? On, uh... That one there."

- Pyroll attempts Scratch on Anorith 2

The two Anorith had been all but oblivious to the woman and her pokemon as they quarreled, and it was only as the right one was scratched and startled by a side attack that both stopped and even took notice of the Fire armadillo pokemon. The one on the right, scarcely injured by the move, shook her full body in disdain briefly before forming a Scratch and attacking the Pyroll. Meanwhile the second Anorith, a tad bigger than his female counterpart, went and scratched her- more than willing to take the opportunity to deal some damage and win the food. The first Anorith cried out startled but didn’t stop just then to attack the Pyroll.

"Ye can dae it!" Kenna pumped her fist in the air as her Pokémon's attack landed. "Shake it aff, an' scart heem again!" Pyroll hesitated for a moment. Him? But this one was clearly a girl! ...Oh, well. He went in for another scratch, trying to ignore her counter-attacks. He certainly wasn't any good at dodging them, so just dealing with it seemed like the best option if he was to be offensive at all. "You can do it!" "Shake it off, and scratch him again!" Kenna...stood and watched her Pokémon fight. Wow, this felt awkward. She was only even vaguely aware of what 'awkward' felt like, but this sure seemed to be it. How did trainers do it?

Upon being Scratched yet again by two opponents, the Anorith cried a little in frustration more than anything before glancing sideways towards Kenna instead of her two opponents. That woman had been the one to release this pokemon after her! Well- she couldn’t be certain, but at the moment she didn’t quite care. Suddenly going barreling towards Kenna despite her fearsome exterior, the Anorith made to Scratch at her ankles. The male, left in a state of confusion at what happened, glanced warily at the Pyroll for a brief second before making to snatch up the berry and flee.

"Och, nae ye dorn't!" Kenna cried as she saw an Anorith scuttle away. "Pyroll, after it, dinnae let 'im get awa'!" Pyroll nodded and ran after, albeit... rather slowly. Right. "I'll be after ye in jist a moment, hen!" she called as she leaned down and grabbed at the Anorith attacking her legs without much care for getting hurt, intending to run after her and the fleeing Pokémon once she had this one in hand. "Oh, no you don't!" "Pyroll, after it, don't let him get away!" "I'll be after you in just a moment, dear!"
Party:
- Pyroll attempts to chase after Anorith 1
- Kenna is attempting to pick up and grab Anorith 2
- Assuming she's successful, she will then attempt to follow Pyroll and Anorith

The Anorith clinging to the half-eaten berry, despite being a shelled bug, was moving rather quickly- though this may have just been due to a greater effort to get away at this point rather than anything else. He glanced back very briefly to see if he had pursuers, and upon seeing the Pyroll, he screeched (not the attack, mind you) in fear and kept moving, making to claw his way around a corner and disappearing into a trash bin as quickly as he could. Meanwhile, the female was startled to say the least at being snatched up but continued her onslaught of Scratches in a ditch effort to both be released and seek vengeance for having been attacked when she was clearly busy defending what was hers. Flailing a little, she ended up cutting at Kenna’s arm.

Pyroll rounded the corner after the Anorith, and froze. ...Where...had it gone? There was a dustbin lid that had probably been knocked off, given it was still vibrating and rolling a bit from the fall, but there were like three dustbins that needed lids. He wasn't tall enough to just look inside the garbage cans, either, so he just sort of...stayed there, until his trainer could do something. As Kenna ran behind them, she gripped the bug all the tighter for the injuries it was inflicting on her. "Ye'd better nae hae ony diseases ur th' ilk, ye vermin," she said at a particularly nasty scratch, and flung her wrist to slam the bug against the wall near her, keeping her grip tight. "You'd better not have any diseases or the like, you vermin." When Kenna caught up to Pyroll, she found him staring at the collection of trash cans. She smooshed her mouth to one side as she thought for a moment, then kneeled down to grab the discarded trash lid with the hand not holding the Anorith--and earning a nice slash to her knee and more importantly, her dress, for the trouble, given it was within the Anorith's range. With something resembling a roar, she whacked the Anorith again, against the ground this time. ...And did so yet again. She seemed to have entirely abandoned her first idea with the trash can lid, whatever that was, as she wailed on this Anorith herself. Pyroll's eyes widened in legitimate fear as he watched his trainer lose her temper. Some of what she said was words, much of it was not. She stopped after not too many seconds, though it seemed much longer than that for all involved. Panting, she placed a foot on the back of the Anorith before letting go of it with her bag, and dug for a Pokéball. ...That... was all reminiscent of battle damage, right? Oh, well, it's not like they at the Emissary could prove it wasn't even if they suspected. As she dug, she said, "Pyroll, be a hen 'n' mak' sure th' ither howlin' bawbag hasnae gotten awa'." Her face was still quite ruddy from her previous rage, and she certainly held no love for the other Anorith, but it was still... somewhat unnerving how quickly she moved back into a sweet tone of voice. "Pyroll, be a dear and make sure the other smelly ballsack hasn't gotten away." With still wide eyes, Pyroll nodded and tried his best to climb up whatever junk surrounded the cans. As he made his way up, he remembered his first battle earlier this week, when he'd doubted her judgement on a water-battle but did as she asked anyhow. He... He... What had he gotten into? (He wondered, briefly, if the Slugma wouldn't have been a better fit for her. At least she wouldn't have had to worry about Kenna losing her temp--no, he chided himself, that was a bad way to think. Don't go down that road.)
Party:
- Kenna loses her temper on Anorith 2
- Kenna attempts to catch Anorith 2
- Pyroll attempts to climb up any debris surrounding the garbage cans to see which can Anorith 1 is in, assuming he's still around
- Pyroll is very unsure of his life and his choices at the moment.

In a desperate attempt not to be attacked, the male Anorith was doing whatever he could to remain dead silent after choosing his hiding spot. The sound of the Pyroll coming around the corner nearly made him blanch- if it’s possible for Anorith to blanch, anyways- and it took everything in him not to try and look up over the trash that bin that he was concealing himself in.
At being gripped tighter for her Scratches, the female Anorith cried a little before retaliating with still more Scratching- doing damage to Kenna’s hands, wrists, whatever was close enough that she could possibly use to her advantage. This crazy woman didn’t seem to care though! She didn’t have time to think about much else before suddenly being slammed into a wall the force of which was akin to something less than a Tackle but overall still shocked her mentally and physically hurt! Flailing a little, she made to Scratch Kenna across the forearm again cutting in deeper than before.
As Kenna seemed all but unfazed by her attacks, the Anorith was growing steadily desperate. Let go! Let go! Let ]go! she cried – the likes of which only came out in a strange mix of her species name and upset not quite verbally understood sounds. The roar was terrifying to some degree and caused the Anorith to stop moving for a few seconds- before she wished she’d at least taken some damage upon being smashed into the ground. OW! OW! The Anorith flailed a little at taking such damage trying to get away but finding herself incapable of doing so.
Meanwhile the male Anorith who had briefly peaked over the trash can caught sight of the woman hurting the female Anorith, and for all of five seconds he considered rushing in to help the very Anorith he’d been sparing for the food. However, he didn’t want to die so never mind. The female Anorith was all but unconscious by the time Kenna finally stopped- and a heavy sort of sigh escaped from the trash can briefly before the Anorith scuttled back deeper within.
The shifting of the cans as the Pyroll tried to climb them would cause the Anorith’s particular can to tip a little, and despite trying rather quickly to move to the other side to keep it from falling over, the Anorith was unable to match the weight balance well enough, and instead the trash can came tumbling down revealing the Anorith as well if one stared now down into it.
